Abstract

The article provides an analysis of the use of various types of gyroscopes on civil aviation aircraft. The analysis of shortcomings of mechanical and ring laser gyroscopes is carried out. The advantages of a fiber-optic gyroscope based on the Sagnac effect are shown. This gyroscope has a higher reliability, smaller, compared to other types of gyroscopes, mass and dimensions, higher accuracy of measuring angular velocities.
