Abstract

A method is proposed for determining the “independence distance” of the kinematic characteristics of the water flow from each other, measured at two neighboring measuring points. The proposed values of the indicated “independence distance” are based on either the length of the mixing path or the transverse scale of turbulence, or on the empirical value of the “independence distance” along which the correlation coefficient between the measured characteristics varies from one to zero. As a result of the analysis of these variants of values, it is possible to establish their area of applicability.
