Abstract

The existing variety of sensor devices requires standardization of the description of both the devices themselves and the measurement information, methods of its processing, presentation standards and sensors interaction on the World Wide Web. The Open Geospatial Consortium has developed not only standards for describing sensors and measurement data, but also standards for web services. This article describes the OGC standards related to sensors, as well as the architecture of a web service reference model for accessing a resource.
