Abstract

A method is proposed for computer simulation of the dynamic non-stationary thermal mode of operation of a conductor of distribution networks with a random change in the value of the load current. Based on this method, a virtual device (VP) has been developed in the LabVIEW environment. When developing the VP, a nonlinear differential equation was used, which takes into account the dependence of the resistance and constant heating of the current line on temperature, which makes it possible to increase the accuracy of calculations of the overheating temperature of overhead line wires relative to the environment in non-stationary thermal modes of their operation with random changes in load current over time. In addition, based on the simulation results, it is possible to estimate the value of the calculated current corresponding to the maximum value of overheating of the conductor. It should be noted that by repeating the numerical experiment many times at different values of constant heating of the conductor with unchanged values of the other parameters, it is possible to investigate the effect of constant heating on the maximum value of overheating of the conductor ϑm and the value of the calculated current I_p, which is important in the design work of the power supply system.
