Abstract

This article presents an analytical review of modern hardware firewall solutions used as part of cybersecurity subsystems for Security Operation Centers (SOC). The study examines the architecture, functional features, and comparative characteristics of the most widely used firewalls: Cisco ASA, Fortinet FortiGate, MikroTik RouterBOARD, and Raspberry Pi 4. Special attention is paid to cost analysis, energy efficiency, configuration flexibility, and licensing models. Solutions reviewed for being cost-effective and adaptable choice for small-scale corporate networks. The findings confirm the practicality of using the certain hardware solution in budget-constrained environments where customization and resource efficiency are critical.
