FUNCTIONAL OPTIMIZATION AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF AN OBJECT-ORIENTED SCADA PLATFORM FOR MODERN RAILWAY SIGNALING AND AUTOMATED TRAFFIC CONTROL

Abstract

The article discusses functional optimization and architectural design of an object-oriented SCADA platform for railway signaling systems. The study is based on the zenon platform and aims to eliminate drawbacks of traditional SCADA systems such as operator overload, update delays, lack of alarm prioritization, and inability to update without system downtime. The proposed architecture provides high-precision monitoring, automatic route setting, alarm hierarchy, and predictive maintenance support. The results demonstrate that an object-oriented SCADA architecture is essential for modern railway systems.
