Abstract

The work is devoted to the consideration of devices for scaling analog signals. A new type of such devices is considered - a mechanical signal scaler for linear dimension sensors. This scaler is a single part made of some elastic material. A special profile of the voids in the scaler design allows it to have high rigidity in some specified directions and low rigidity in others. Kinematic pairs of such a scaler work not due to the relative movement of its links, but due to the intrinsic elasticity of the material. This circumstance fundamentally deprives such scalers of backlash, wear, the need for lubrication and other things inherent in classical kinematic pairs. In addition, thanks to modern additive technologies, such a device is often cheaper than analogs and has a number of other positive features, which will be discussed in the article. The calculation of the scaler is also given, by displacements, using the finite element method in the SolidWorks Simulation calculation environment.
