Abstract

Based on the analysis of the main elements of flexible power transmission lines (FACTS), which are based on a static source of reactive power, an assessment is given of the possibilities of their application in the electric power industry of our Republic when solving the problem of damping various oscillations in EPS. To solve the problems of damping fluctuations of power flows, a modal approach to the synthesis of control of an EPS with FACTS devices is proposed. The method of residues is proposed as a synthesis method. FACTS devices synthesized with its help are able to provide the desired damping of specific vibration modes, which represent the process of power flows in the EPS.
